ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
A certified ESL instructor meets with adults who would like to improve their English on
Saturday mornings from 10:30 -12:00. Registration is not required.
BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING
Beginning in October 2007, a nurse from Interim Healthcare of Stony Brook will be here the second
Wednesday of each month from 1:00-3:00 PM to check your blood pressure free of charge.
No reservations are necessary.
All screenings will be done on a first come basis.
LITERACY VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA
The Library has meeting rooms which can be used by Literacy Volunteers to tutor students.

OUTREACH
Patrons who are unable to come to the library due to a permanent or temporary condition can
request that the Library deliver materials to their homes as well as pick them up for return.

AARP TAX ASSISTANCE
Each year, beginning in February and ending the Wednesday before April 15th, volunteers from
the AARP are available one day a week (by appointment) to assist seniors in preparation of their tax returns.
