Community Service Opportunities for Teens:

Children’s Maritime Museum

High School Junior Staff Opportunities: High school students from all over the Port Jefferson and surrounding areas work together alongside museum staff to explore community, technology and education at the Maritime Explorium. Through experiences that increase their confidence and independence, our Junior Staff members will grow into valued members of the ME team. Junior Staff members begin with broad interests in science, community outreach or working with children. Each develops their interests into real work experience and skill sets that prepare them for college and careers. High School graduates can be selected to stay on as paid staff or to mentor new Junior Staff Members.
