Your museum visit

You are responsible for planning your trip. Be sure to check the museum’s hours before you reserve a museum pass. Not all events/exhibits are covered with the museum pass. Additional fees are your responsibility. Please contact the museum directly for more information. You must bring both the physical museum pass or a hard copy of the printable pass and your library card.

How do I reserve a Pass?

It is recommended you reserve passes well in advance of your planned museum visit. Passes may be reserved up to 30 days in advance. Continue reading through these FAQs and at the bottom “accept” these terms in order to be taken to our online Museum Pass reservation platform. Due to high demand, walk-ins are not recommended but may be considered based on availability. Reservations for Print at Home Passes MUST be made for the DATE YOU WISH TO USE THE PASS. Reservations for Pick Up/Return at Library Passes MUST be made for the date you will PICK UP THE PASS AT THE LIBRARY (pickup is generally the DAY BEFORE your visit)

The eligible borrower’s name, telephone, email address & library card number will be required at the time of reservation. If you must cancel your reservation, you may do so online until 24 hours prior to your reserved time slot. If you must cancel within 24 hours of your reserved time slot, please contact the library. Be sure to contact the Library as soon as possible so the pass can be made available to other patrons.

How many days can I borrow the Pass?

Pick Up/Return at Library Passes may be borrowed for 3 days, which includes the day it is picked up and the day it is due for return. For example, if your visit is for a Sunday, you may pick up the pass on Saturday, and it would be due for return on Monday, 1 hour prior to the Library’s closing time. If you wish to use the pass on a day the Library is closed, it must be reserved for pick up on the day prior to the Library’s closed date and will be due the next day the Library is open. If the pass is not returned on time, an extended use fee of $20 will apply for each day it is late.

Print at Home Passes are reserved for and only valid on the day of the museum visit. This pass does NOT need to be returned.

How do I go about picking up my reserved Pass?

Pick Up/Return at Library Passes are picked up at the Circulation Desk on the designated reserved date. Borrowers will be required to present their library card and sign a museum pass user agreement at the time the pass is checked out. The pass must be checked out to the cardholder that the reservation was made under. The cardholder must be present with their library at check-out. The Library is not obligated to honor your reservation if the pass is not picked up on the designated reserved date. Passes that are not picked up on the designated reserved date are considered forfeited.

Print at Home Passes are printed either at home or in the library during our normal business hours.

How many passes may I reserve/borrow at one time?

A maximum of one pass per household/family may be borrowed at one time. The same pass may not be reserved more than once per month.

When must the Pass be returned?

Pick Up/Return at Library Passes must be returned to the Circulation Desk one hour prior to Library closing on the day it is due. Museum Passes may NOT be returned in the book drops. If the pass is not returned on time, an extended use fee of $20 will apply for each day it is late. Passes may NOT be renewed. It is the borrower’s responsibility to know library hours and to ensure that the pass is returned on time. Passes must be given to a staff member at the Circulation Desk. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE PASSES ON THE COUNTER OR IN THE BOOK DROP.

Print at Home Passes do NOT need to be returned.

What if I lose or damage the Pick Up/Return at Library Pass?

As stated in the user agreement contract at checkout, borrowers will be responsible to pay the full replacement cost of any pass that is lost or damaged during their loan period. The borrower will also be responsible for any fees/charges the Library incurs as a result of non-return of a museum pass, which includes but is not limited to entry fees for the next borrower.

PLEASE NOTE

Before you embark on your trip, you are responsible for checking with each institution for guidelines including limited hours/services, fees, or reservations needed to be made before your visit.

Although some of our museum passes are now available, each museum sets its own restrictions, and you must comply with their rules. Some may require that you reserve a specific time slot for your visit and/or charge additional fees. Please direct any questions to the specific museum. The Library is not responsible for museum closures and recommends that patrons call museums before reserving passes.
