With no waiting, titles can be streamed immediately, or downloaded to phones or tablets for offline enjoyment later. We have hundreds of thousands of titles to choose from, with more being added daily. hoopla is like having your public library at your fingertips. Anytime. Anywhere.

The e-book catalog features titles from all of Harper’s publishing units, including HarperCollins Christian Publishing, HarperCollins UK, and Harlequin as well as bestselling authors Susan Mallery, Louise Erdrich, and Dennis Lehane. You are eligible to borrow 10 items per month. Loan periods: eBooks, Audiobooks, Comics – 21 Days, Music – 7 Days, Movies & TV Shows – 3 Days

To Use Hoopla in your Browser

Hoopla requires a separate account. See our directions below to access this service. 

First Time Users

  • Go to hoopladigital.com or click the logo
  • Click the “Log In” button on the top right
  • Click “Sign Up Now” under New to hoopla?
  • Select “Port Jefferson Public Library”
  • Enter your email address, library barcode number and a password then click “Sign Up Now”
  • Click “Borrow” to start streaming

Current Users

  • Go to hoopladigital.com or click the logo
  • Click the “Log In” button on the top right
  • Enter your email and password
  • Click “Borrow” to start streaming

On your Phone or Tablet

Which web browsers are supported?

Hoopla currently supports Internet Explorer 10 and newer, Chrome 39 and newer, Firefox 32 and newer, and Safari 7 and newer. Currently, Widevine (a plugin) does need to be installed on all Firefox, Safari & Internet Explorer applications. With the latest versions of Chrome & Edge nothing will need to be installed as everything comes installed in those browsers.
