The Health and Welfare Council of Long Island (HWCLI)

HWCLI is a regional, nonprofit umbrella organization for health and human service providers. We are dedicated to improving the lives of Long Island’s most vulnerable residents by responding to their needs through the promotion and development of public policies and direct services. The organization can help with NYS health insurance enrollment, SNAP enrollment, emergency rental assistance, among other items.

Port Jefferson Station residents/parishioners can speak to someone directly at the Church to receive assistance. Others who are in need must present a letter from their church stating what is required to receive assistance.

Brighter Tomorrows (Domestic Violence): New York State licensed 19-bed domestic violence shelter offering counseling, on-site legal advocacy, transitional housing for victims of domestic violence, human trafficking victims, and women recently released from jail, and a recovery home for women who have completed an inpatient drug and alcohol program.
